Pearson Mathematics 3a Mainteance Workbook

To the Student

The activities in this write-on workbook are designed to provide you with opportunities to revise key mathematical knowledge. The problems encourage you to think mathematically, to use your mathematical knowledge. Working mentally on each section will ensure you really have the knowledge and confidence you need to use mathematics in the real world. When solving problems, a calculator is a useful tool to have on hand.

To the Teacher

The activities in this write-on workbook have been designed to complement thePearson Mathematics programme taught over the previous three months (approximately). For example: Term 1 assignments in Maintenance Workbook 3acover mathematics taught in Pearson Mathematics 2b.

Students have really learnt something when they can draw on prior knowledge to use it again to solve problems. This workbook provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their recall of mathematical knowledge, and to show their learning using their knowledge to solve problems.

To the Parent/Caregiver

The activities in this write-on workbook cover mathematics your child has previously met in the class mathematical programme. Sometimes children do forget and require assistance. If they need help recalling key knowledge, remind them. You child may need to talk through a word problem to fully understand it. This is part of the problem-solving process used in the real world. Discuss the problem and work together – this assists learning.
