·         N3 – Read and write any 2-digit whole number;

·         N4 – Rote count to at least 50.

Exploring computation and estimation

Within a range of meaningful contexts, students should be able to:

·         N5 - Make sensible estimates and check the reasonableness of answers;

·         N6 – Model and explain addition calculations with a sum of up to 20;

·         N7 – Using up to 20 objects, model and explain subtraction calculations;

·         N8 – Find, by practical means, one half and one quarter of a shape, and half a set of objects.
